With that said, not everyone is a fit for every product, and this review will make sure you know if this brewing system is for you.

When you can buy beer at an affordable price, why spend money on a brewing system of your own?  Does the price ensure quality? Let’s take a closer look at the Beerdroid Beer Brewing System and find out.

Beerdroid Beer Brewing System: The Details

How Does It Work?

Anyone who’s tried home brewing knows it’s a complicated venture. However, setting up the Beerdroid Beer Brewing System is a straightforward and easy process.

While buying a pack of beer at the store is effortless, with this brewing system, you have a constant supply – customized to your exact tastes.

Before you start the brewing process, you’ll first download the BrewArt app to your smartphone. Through the app or through the panel on the machine, you’ll receive updates on the temperature and amount of time left in the brewing process.

If you don’t want to stand by the brewer the whole time, simply keep your phone handy; it’ll alert you when it’s finished.

To connect the app to the brewer, open it on your smartphone and follow the prompts. It’ll lead you through the process of syncing the two through your Wi-Fi connection.

Now it’s time to set up the actual brewer. First, sanitize the BeerDroid by mixing water and one of the sanitizing packs that come with the package. Let it sit for an hour. After an hour of sanitization, drain and refill it with carbon-filtered tap water.

Then, dump the powdered BrewPrint components (which is essentially powdered, hopped, dry malt extract) and a pack of yeast into the water. Lock the lid down and then, through the app or the control panel, set the temperature.

Finally, direct the brewer to make your beer. It will take a couple of days for propagation and then fermentation. You will get notifications as each process completes.

Next, add sugar and aroma hops (or whatever you like for the type you’re making) into the kegs of your choice. Add in the contents of the Beerdroid, and let it sit for a week or two.

Then, rinse out the Beerdroid and you’re ready to use it again. It’s that simple!

BrewArt: The Brand

Founded in 2016 in Australia, BrewArt started off with a simple goal: developing a complete system that would provide the user with “pub-quality” beer, but in their own home and with just a push of a button.

Since they began, they have released two different brewing products: the Beerdroid to make the beer and the Beerflo to dispense it.

Beyond this, they’ve also created hundreds of different BrewPrints with top beer brands, ensuring customers can recreate their favorite beer whenever they like.

The Positives

Super Easy to Use

While brewing your own beer may seem next to impossible we loved how the Beerdroid Beer Brewing System makes it a simple, straightforward venture.

Once you have sanitized the inside of the tank and rinsed it properly, you simply need to add in the yeast, hop mix, and carbonated water, set the temp via the app or the control panel, and then let it sit until the app alerts you that it’s finished.

From there, you can dispense it into bottles or a keg (or for best results, you may want to pick up a Beerflo). Next, add sugar, aroma hops, or whatever you like to make the beer to your specifications.

If you’re a beginner, it’s probably best to stick to the standard recipe that comes with the system. Otherwise, feel free to experiment. Since it’s so easy to use, you’ll be playing with flavours and a variety of options in no time.

Very Easy to Clean

You won’t have to worry about a daunting cleanup process once you’re beer is brewed and ready to go. Cleaning the Beerdroid brewing system is almost easier than using it.

To sanitize the inside, you just need water and the sanitizing tablets that come with the system. Let it sit for an hour and then pour it out.

There is also a two-piece snap tap, along with a flush drain. These allow you to easily remove the contents, providing you direct access to clean all the delicate crevices.

The tap can be the hardest part to clean, but with this snap tap design, it’s an uncomplicated process. Beerdroid makes the beer making process a painless one all around, so all you have to do is enjoy your brew.

Surprisingly Convenient

While simply buying a bottle of beer is more convenient than making it, if you’re going to make it, the Beerdroid is the most convenient way to do it.

Once everything arrives, is unboxed, and is fully assembled, your input is minimal. No more standing around for hours, waiting for the process to finish!

With the app, you’ll be alerted to each step the Beerdroid takes. So long as you have a Wi-Fi signal for the app to connect with, you’ll remain abreast with its progress by simply glancing at your phone.

Great Tasting Beer

The greatest downside to home brewing is the drop in quality. After all, if making beer was easy, no one would pay marked up bar prices!

Even still, it’s surprising just how great the quality of the beer is with the Beerdroid. It’s easy to drink up your first batches quicker than you expect since the great taste will easily win you over.

Whether you’re making lager or ale you’ll be raving about how good the brew is. The flavor seemed fuller and brighter with the Beerdroid and with lager specifically, the color was a bit darker than expected, but it tasted perfect.

Once you get the Beerdroid up and running in your home, it might be hard to return to your favorite bar or beer store. The Beerdroid will likely win you over.

Versatility at Its Best

With the Beerdroid, you’ll be open to a world of beer making starting with the BrewArts all-natural ingredients.

Not only will you know just what’s going into your brew, but you’ll be able to customize your beer to your specific tastes and liking. Basically, you can have your own personal beer whenever you want it.

You won’t be stuck with just one type of brew either. The Beerdroid can make a variety of styles of beer so you won’t have to stick to plain lagers if you want to spread your wings in beer making. Want to try your hand at a partial-mash or all-extract recipe? You can go right ahead!

The Beerdroid is also great for those who are looking to expand their beer palate. You’ll definitely learn a lot about flavors with the Beerdroid.

The Negatives

On the Pricey Side

While most people will love the easy process and the great results, they may be less pleased with the price. On Amazon, the brewing system sells for around $500.

Depending on your budget, this can be a costly effort, especially when you can buy beer at your local supermarket. If you’re planning on adding that price to the Beerflo, you’re looking at a massive investment.

If you’re a beer connoisseur who’s dedicated to making your own brews, the Beerdroid is likely worth the money.

However, if you’re a hobbyist planning to make a few batches a year, the price may be deterring. In the long run, however, it could save you a ton of money on evenings out.

Not for Tiny Batches

While having big batches of beer around isn’t exactly a bad thing, it’s good to know that you shouldn’t be trying to make any batches less than 10 litres (over 2 gallons) with the Beerdroid.

It’s not meant to brew smaller quantities which means if you’re tempted to play around with flavors and taste them bit by bit, you’ll have to commit to a full batch of your experiment.

If you’re new to beer making, it’s best to play around with BrewArt ingredients before moving on to ingredients of your own. This way you don’t risk having a big batch of something undrinkable.

Overall Verdict

After going over all the positives and negatives, we do recommend the Beerdroid Beer Brewing System. While the price is definitely on the higher end, if you can swing it, it’s worth the cost.

The beer tastes fantastic, is easy to make, and the product is simple to clean after each batch. This makes home brewing not only feasible, but effortless.

If you’re on a budget, you may need to consider this purchase a little longer but with that said, if you’re dedicated to the purchase, then it’s worthwhile adding the Beerflo to your collection.

Yes, it adds another chunk to the price tag, but dramatically improves the dispensing process, ensuring you get a higher quality end result.

Where to Buy the Beerdroid Beer Brewing System

BrewArt might be a fairly new brand to both the tech and alcohol world, but they’ve definitely made a name for themselves with the innovative Beerdroid.

With some popularity gained on Kickstarter, customers have been very satisfied with items from BrewArt, including the Beerdroid. Even with great customer feedback, BrewArt is still an up and coming company with few retailers carrying their name.

Thankfully, you’ll still be able to find the Beerdroid Beer Brewing System both in-store and online.

While it’s usually best to check home department and tech stores, you can kick-start your search with the following online retailers.

And of course, you can also find this smart beer brewing system on Amazon.
