We live in a time where capturing each moment of our lives is simpler than ever – all it takes is your phone, your watch, or even your computer.
The everyday technology we have now does all the work, delivering a professional quality which would have been impossible for the average person to achieve years ago.
However, despite how much easier it is to record our lives, technology has grown one-sided when it comes to minimizing the tools needed to achieve such quality while reducing complexity.
PITTA wants to close that gap with their Transformative Autonomous 4K Selfie Drone.

What Is PITTA?
PITTA is a palm-sized, all-in-one camera that serves as a drone, action cam, and security camera all at the same time.
PITTA is being produced by EYEDEA, whose co-founder, J.B. Hwang, began developing because of his frustration with GoPro cameras and drones.
He found there to be a lack of diverse shots provided by action cameras and was not impressed with the complexity of drones, believing it was unnecessary and time-consuming while taking up too much space.
By taking into account ease of use, space, practicality, and quality, PITTA promises to be the most useful camera on the market.
Drone Module
The drone module on PITTA allows you to capture the special times in your life while you live in the moment.
PITTA is autonomous, meaning that it films and takes pictures without needing any manual control or instruction.
While in drone mode, PITTA can automatically track your movements and follow you on your journey. It is terrain-aware, so you won’t have to worry about it bumping into any buildings or trees, and it can film you from a range of up to 20 meters.
Auto landing is also a nifty little feature, as well as the ‘come back home’ option, where you can program PITTA to fly to a specified route all on its own, while being able to shoot beautiful, 360-degree panoramic shots.
The battery lasts 15 minutes while in drone mode.
Action Cam Module
To start filming dynamic ground shots, just snap the action module onto the camera and attach it to any standard action cam mount.
While in action cam mode, PITTA can film in 60fps slow motion, live stream, and can take continuous pictures with the burst shot option.
The battery lasts 100 minutes while in action cam mode.
Home Security Module
Dock PITTA onto the charging cradle and allow it to stream to your smartphone at all times.
About PITTA: Specs, Design and How It Works
One of the best things about PITTA is how small and light it is. It is 170 mm/6.7 inches and weighs 200g/7oz (about the weight of your average smartphone).
You can easily place PITTA inside your purse or backpack and have it ready at a moment’s notice. The wings for the drone module are foldable, reducing bulk when packing PITTA for your adventures.
PITTA doesn’t have an SD card slot, but it has 32GB of built-in flash memory, with an upgrade to 64GB being discussed by the team.
The built-in memory can hold up to two hours of film at 30mbps, and you can transfer the footage and pictures to your phone or laptop through USB or Bluetooth.
PITTA shoots videos in 4k 30fps, and takes pictures with a 13-megapixel camera.
To switch between modules, PITTA has a magnetic cap, so you can attach the wings for the drone module or switch it to the normal camera module with a simple twist-to-lock mechanism.
One of the many complaints people have about drones is how big and difficult to use they can be at times. PITTA eliminates any discomfort first-time drone flyers might have by allowing you to control PITTA on your cell phone.
By having PITTA on your smartphone, not only will you see what PITTA is filming, you can also switch between camera and video mode, set up the auto-follow and come back home features, see your battery and Wi-Fi connection, land the drone, and more.
When and Where Can I Get PITTA?
You can pre-order the basic kit for PITTA on Kickstarter for $290 dollars and the exclusive full kit for $320 (though there are other packages available for different pledges), with the campaign ending early February.
Shipping is set for April 2018.
Final Thoughts on PITTA
Keeping a record of our present to remember it in the future is on everyone’s mind nowadays.
Streaming and vlogging culture, technology, and the ever-changing nature of our lives have encouraged us to capture every moment for ourselves and for posterity, though it may be confusing at times.
What PITTA wants to do is make it easier, more interesting, and more cinematic than ever before to make, document, and share memories that will last a lifetime.
What do you think? Are you willing to give PITTA a try?
